Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Re: Anybody Fly Jefferson Airplane?

Huge fan. I kind of got into the Dead backwards. In jr high it was ac/dc ozzy then onto Rush then got introduced to the weed and led zeppelin and finally bob dylan. Always loved the Beatles. Then saw Woodstock on pbs and fell in love with Country Joe and the Fish. Both the combination of humor and liberal politics and of course pot. Then when i discovered LSD it went hand in hand with the Airplane. Became a massive fan even diving in to all the great Starship/Kantner projects and of course became a huge Hot Tuna fan. All this before i finally figured out why the Grateful Dead had such a lasting reputation. I wish there were way more recording of the Airplane from the Bless it's pointed Little head era. More has come out ( like the golden gate park 69 show ) but not nearly enough
